WE ARE CELEBRATING JOHN COLTRANE'S 96TH BIRTHDAY WITH THE "COLTRANE-IST" ERIC WYATT, LYLE LINK AND THE JOHN HANRAHAN QUARTET FEATURING ANDREW DIXON.

JHQ IS COMING FROM MONTEREY JAZZ FESTIVAL AFTER THEIR COLTRANE PRESENTATION. OTHER GREAT MUSICIANS WILL BE IN THE HOUSE. THEY WILL BE DOING THE COLTRANE HITS AND SOME VERY SPECIAL SONGS LIKE AFRICA BRASS. GEOFFREY'S INNER CIRCLE IS A GREAT JAZZ VENUE WITH SUPERB SOUL FOOD AND DRINKS.

TraneTraxx is proud to present a Tribute to Miles Davis (on Miles's Birthday weekend) and John Coltrane featuring Eddie Henderson on Trumpet and Eric Wyatt on Tenor with an All Star Band; Andrew Speight - Alto, Sylvia Cuenca - Drums, Peter Zak - Piano, Marcos Varela - Bass.

Opening Act is the Equator doing Bitches Brew Experiment featuring: Beauman Edwards - Bass, Nima Hafezieh - Keyboard, Jacob Savage -Trumpet, Jeremy Samos - Guitar and Dennis Willoner - Drumset.

Please Come, it is suppose to be 70 degrees outdoors and we have the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater to enjoy these Super Stars.

JOHN COLTRANE BIRTHDAY TRIBUTE

Azar Lawrence (saxophone), John Hanrahan (dums), Dahveed Behroozi (piano), Giulio Cetto (bass)

Shortly after John Coltrane’s death in 1967, Azar Lawrence, at just 19 years old, was chosen by Elvin Jones to fill the shoes of John Coltrane for 3 1/2 years.

WORLD CLASS TRIBUTE TO JOHN COLTRANE

Miles/Coltrane Connection featuring Lyle Link, Josh Thurston-Milgrom, Grant Levin, Geechi Taylor, John Hanrahan, Andrew Speight, Ronnie Ray Padilla.

Featuring a pre-show talk by Dr. Nicholas Baham on the subject of Coltrane’s rarely heard composition, Alabama. Miles/Coltrane Connection played the beautiful and moving Alabama to the poetry of Poetess Kalamu Chaché. Sitting in on Alabama and A Love Supreme were Lyle Link on sax, Josh Thurston-Milgram on bass, Grant Levin on piano, John Hanrahan on drums, and Ronnie Ray Padilla on guitar.

Free concerts presented by the San Jose Saxophone Choir. John Hanrahan (drums) and Josh Thurston-Milgrom (bass) joined the choir in A Love Supreme community chant.
